THINNING HAIR

Common causes of a thinning hairline or edges are tight hairstyles such as; braids, weaves, twists, Locs, and many other type of hair extensions. It’s best to seek advice from a Trichologist before having these services done. Although, most of these hairstyles look good and are recommended by most hairstylist as a protective style, the truth is that it can cause more damage to your hair follicles over time. Excessive weight from the hair extensions often weaken the hair and can break from any part of the hair shaft.

I’ve often heard hairstylist tell their clients their hair will grow with using conditioning masks, protein treatments, aloe plant, avocado, coconut oil, castor oil, rice water, and etc. All of these alternatives are good for strengthening the hair shaft but the #1 question should be, ” can any of these products penetrate to the dermal papilla (where hair growth begin) if your scalp is covered in sebum (oil)and your follicles are clogged?” The answer is NO!!!! so what is the point of buying these products if its just causing more BUILD UP on your scalp. My point exactly, so let’s talk about solutions that will contribute to healthy growing hair.

If you really want to prevent further damage to your hair follicles consult with a Trichologist for more information about possible causes and solutions. We can help you get back on the right path to healthier fuller hair.
